Prosperity Scriptures and the Power You Can Have

Do you believe God wants you to be blessed with riches? And I do not mean rich in spiritual goodness - that’s already a given. I mean do you believe that God wants you to live in overflowing wealth and physical well-being? The answer is that He does. Abundance and prosperity is not a evil desire to have, it has its beginnings in the Holy Scriptures. In fact you will find that prosperity scriptures from the Old and New Testament books verify this to be true.

You will observe that most of God’s chosen individuals have enjoyed not only immense wealth but also a a name of great worth. Abraham was known to have such a large quantity of herds, cattle and male and female servants that he and Lot his nephew had to separate because the land they would go to is not able to keep both of their families and flocks. Sarah, Abraham’s wife was so attractive that she received the interest of a king - and this was when she was 90 years old! What is she doing and where can we find it, right? You see, this is God’s abundance in surplus.

Another story of supernatural prosperity is Joseph. We all know what happened to him, things did not work out great with this special person. He was sold by his brothers, wrongly accused and sent to prison, forgotten by someone who owed him a favor - who could imagine he’d eventually be the second in command of the powerful nation of Egypt? God did. Joseph was given a personal vision of this awesome future many many years ago and even with the impossibilities that he met, God delivered him. Is this your life story? Did you used to dream of a good life but the hardships that seem to come against you at every season seemed to be too much to put up with? Don’t give up friend. God cares and wants to see your dream become a reality.

Now you’re beginning to see it too, God does intend for His people to be blessed. But that was in the Old Testament and He was referring to the Jewish people - that has nothing in relation with me. Read up on the New Testament books carefully and you will learn that the prosperity promise concerns you as well. Abraham is the founding father of Faith, therefore all who believe are inheritors of the promise. That is why when God told Abraham many centuries ago: ‘I will bless you and make your name great; I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And through you all families of the earth shall be blessed’ (Genesis 12:2-3) - if you can believe this, you can receive it.

Many people make a mistake in this because there are scriptural verses that appear that being needy is a God mandated state to dwell in. This cannot be factual because God applies prosperity as a natural consequence to those who look to obey Him.

1 Chronicles 22:13

Then you will become prosperous, if you are careful to follow the statutes and the ordinances which the LORD commanded Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid nor be dismayed.

Prosperity scriptures are moderated by the wise advice of not making money your master, and giving liberally to our needy brothers and sisters. When you consider everything, there can be no question about God’s supreme will about your personal wealth.
